Head on over and check out all the fun that’s in store for the next couple of weeks. There will be prizes too! I participated in World Card Making Day yesterday and made a few cards. First up is one this cute one using Concord9th ‘s Oh Hello turn about stamp. I recently got this stamp and was eager to try it out. I love that you can choose the color combinations – it’s fun. Next up is one I made for MFT’s WCMD Challenge 1 – ROYGBIV I die cut the butterfly twice and added rainbow colors using Distress Oxide Ink. I cut an oval into the top piece of cardstock as well as the card base being careful to line them up. I sandwiched a piece of clear thread between the butterflies and taped each end to the card base. Then I lined up the top oval cut out and adhered it to the base with foam tape. The inside of the card is finished with a piece of Black Licorice cardstock with an embossed sentiment that shows through to the front of the card. I also made a card for MFT’s Challenge 2 which called for 100% diecut. I may have cheated a little bit in that I stamped the sentiment. MFT’s Challenge 4 (I didn’t do #3) was a MakeMail…I made this cute card using MFT dienamics. I think I’ll send it to my mom who is currently a little under the weather. I made a bunch of Halloween cards too that I’ll be sharing in the coming weeks. Thanks for stopping by. Leave a comment Posted in MFT (My Favorite Things) World Cardmaking Day 2017 Posted on October 7, 2017 | Leave a comment Now I don’t need an excuse to hole up in my craftroom and make cards all day but at least I have an actual [holi]day and an entire stamping community to back me up today. Afterall, it IS World Cardmaking Day…it’s the Olympics of cardmaking! Come on, I have to make cards today. Even though it is a nice, sunny, warm Saturday not making cards today would be like not having turkey on Thanksgiving. Gasp! Here are a couple of cards I just finished. I created the background by blending three different colors (Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet) of Distress Oxide Inks. I spritzed with water then added a few drops of black ink. I drew and cut out the little ghosts and added a few die cut elements. The pink dots are the new Nuvo Glow Drops – they glow in the dark. So cool. Well, I’m off to get some more cards made…I’ve got lots of ideas swirling around my crafty head. I didn’t have a snazzy title for my post so if you’re reading this, you can choose the title. I don’t suppose it really matters anyway whether this post has a title or not, am I right? I have a few cards to share that I made recently. The first one up is a cute shaker card that I made for Cas-ual Fridays’ challenge CFC183 . I decided to do a large panel shaker and matched the sequin colors to that of the plaid paper. Next up is a card for Lawn Fawnatic’s Challenge #13 . The warm fall colors inspired me to use this yummy plaid paper found in Lawn Fawn’s Perfectly Plaid (Fall) 6×6 paper pack. I colored the cute pinata from LF Year Seven with Copic colors to match the plaid. I added just a bit of sparkly glitter to the pinata too…after all, it IS a party! It’s hard to tell from the photo but the pinata is mounted on a mini action wobbler (I love those things) and the cheers sentiment was cut and stacked (four time) for added dimension. Last up is a card for Sugar Pea Designs mix it up challenge SPDMIU#35 . I went with the color combination (pinkgreen) portion of the challenge and included an arched edge on the floral portion to mimic the door and window frames in the image. I used SPD Talk is Chic stamp set and embossed the sentiment using Versamark and Hero Arts white embossing powder. Don’t forget to check me out on Instagram @jacqueline_worksforstamps. Posted on September 22, 2017 | Leave a comment My blog is officially a year old! I’m still learning my way around and am pretty basic but it’s definitely not as intimidating as it was. Now, on to the fun stuff…I’ve got a really cute card to share today. This fun image comes from Avery Elle (I love Avery Elle). These cute little critters are heading to Long Island, NY all the way from Birthdayville” to wish my BFF Valarie a very happy birthday. I created the background (Strathmore Bristol Smooth) using an ink blending tool with Worn Lipstick and Fossilized Amber Distress Inks then spritzed with water. Then I added some stamped confetti using the same ink colors but stamping off once before stamping onto the image. The image was colored with Copic markers.
